1940s Ludwig & Ludwig Victory Parade Snare

April 2, 2013

This one makes me conflicted.  WWII metal quotas caused some very beautiful drums to be made with mostly wood appointments.  The “Victory” series was Ludwig & Ludwig’s entry.  This drum is a fantastic example of the style.

It’s a little pricey (though worth it, I think), and the parade depth makes it an unlikely choice for one’s primary snare.  Still, it’s so beautiful, and these drums aren’t often found in such nice condition.
