1960s Camco Aristocrat Snare

April 18, 2013

Anyone familiar with DW drums can guess that Camco was a predecessor to the well-known contemporary drum line. Camco was the result of a hostile takeover of George Way’s drum company, and later had its assets split up between DW and Tama. DW obviously got the lugs!

Camco was never as visible a drum brand as the other “big four” (Ludwig, Slingerland, Gretsch and Rogers), so there are far fewer Camco drums in the world. This is a nice example of the Aristocrat line, in a beautiful natural maple finish. It surely sounds incredible!
