1920s Leedy Snare and Catalog

April 21, 2013

Here’s a cool 1920s Leedy student drum, with a nickel-plated brass shell and single-tension set up. These drums have a very open sound, particularly well suited for intimate brush work. And… check out the cool Leedy catalog from the same period! Those illustrations capture the vibe of that time like nothing else! A drummer in a tux, with chinese temple blocks on his kit, behind a bass drum illustrated with a woodland fairy silhouette, awesome! And the flapper looks ready to ditch her date for the drummer!
