1960s Ludwig Golden Tone Cowbell

This is one of the classic cowbells, in the choice 5″ model. The cowbell of monster players like Bonham and many others! This is the only way to get that “Honky Tonk Woman” sound. These usually go for a pretty penny, but they’re a relatively cheap way to own a top percussion collectible.

1960s Rogers Banner Student Snare Drum

Here’s a very cool snare at a great price. This would make a nice auxiliary snare, or a great option for brushes. The light hardware makes for an extremely open, lively tone!

Antique Chinese Tom-Tom

This is a real piece of drum history here. Though the listing calls it a “bongo” (why does everyone call every small drum a bongo?), this is actually an old Chinese tom-tom. You’re looking at the forerunner to today’s modern toms. They were originally used like an effect, somewhat like how drummers use woodblocks or cowbells today. Gene Krupa brought them to the fore with tom features like “Sing, Sing Sing.” Eventually, the curved shells were made straight, wraps replaced the paint, the tacked heads were replaced with tunable structures, and flatter mounts replaced the brass mounting rings. Voila, the modern tom!

This is a fine price for a really cool slice of percussive history. The painted finish is much cooler than the typical example, because it has a beautiful floral pattern over a black background instead of the common plain red background.

1960s Ludwig Blue Note Drum Kit

This is just… drool-inducing. The Blue Note was one of the most complete drum offerings available from Ludwig, with cool aspects like a matching canister throne and bongos. Check out the cool logo on the bongo connector block! This one also happens to be in one of the coolest finishes ever available. You’re not gonna get a complete version of the kit for pennies, so the buy-it-now price is totally understandable. If you bid, though, you might get a crazy good deal!

1950s Rogers Starlite Drum Kit

This is one of the best drum offerings I’ve seen on the ‘Bay in quite some time. This special kit is in remarkable condition for its age, and you can’t beat that cool Starlite set up with everything mounted off drums (no stand schlepping!). The floor tom even converts to a cocktail set up for use with a reversible pedal like the venerable Ludwig Speed Master. This is a totally fair price for an amazing kit, maybe even a value in the end.
